Old
I believe over 65.......virtually PAMPA.

I guess we ain't winning this one. Used this option and signed up for one year @ $58 and it sorta took out some of the sting. Rather the $17 in my pocket.

If we hit 65 on July 1st of the membership year, we qualify for the Senior membership. I'll reach that milestone next April 12th, so I'll get the lower rate for 2016. I received an email from AMA yesterday, in fact, with the lower $48 figure in it for next year. And if I renew for two years, that'll be $93, not $96, a further slight savings of $3.
(I was going to say I can buy a glow plug with the savings, but they're not $3 anymore. Maybe I can buy a prop?)

I didn't know that July was their target date for the age category. I've just always renewed on Oct or Nov, when they sent a bill.
Just yesterday, I re-upped for another 2 years. I'll be 83 next time they want more money.

Just came from the AMA site and renewed for one more year. Didn't think I would be around this long. Would have signed up for life membership when I was first eligible. Only took a couple of minutes and save the cost of a postage stamp.

Who's poorer?
A senior citizen with a pension, savings, and Social Security, or
a young person who can't get a job because of unlimited immigration?
Realistically, anybody who can afford to fly model airplanes and travel to contests won't be hurt by a $75 AMA license.

The three-month trial membership is a GREAT idea. The need to buy a full year AMA license to enter one contest late in the year was a REAL barrier to new members. Our State Meet was just a little too early to qualify for a next-year credit. The full year or nothing policy keep some people out.

HI Rich, Thanks for the number and post! I called AMA and renewed for two years at the present rate for Seniors $48.00 less a special discount to bring my two year bill to $93.00. They will charge my account in each year for the requisite amount and send me my cards as warranted. I figured that now would be a fine time to lock in existing rates! No pain no strain.
Sounds like a good deal to me!

This may be true Paul, but it's the idea that everything is taking a bite out of our wealth (savings, pension etc.) and there is nothing we can do about it. (Without working of course)
But, as long as I can walk, I'll fly! (And catch fish)
