AMA Nats history
« on: August 17, 2017, 06:37:51 PM »
I've looked on AMA's site but can't find what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for a listing of locations and years of the past Nats. My memory has never been very good when it comes to placing dates on events. I'm trying to figure out the years I competed in the Nats. I recall some locations but not likely all of them. I know it was primarily the '80s but may have flew into the early '90s. Just can't remember.
Anyone have a listing or know where it's posted?

Thanks, Matt

From memory: 1984 Reno; 1986, Lake Charles; 1987 Lincoln; 1988 Virginia Beach; 1989, 1992 Tri-cities WA;
1990, 91, 93 Lawrenceville; 1994 Lubbock, 1995 Chicopee, then Muncie forever

1980 maybe Dayton; 1982 maybe Seguin TX; 1985 maybe Chicopee

failing everything else, look in the yearly November or December issues of Model Aviation for Nats reports.

Perfect Bill!
My first was '80 in Wilmington and my last was '90 in Lawrenceville. During those years I missed Seguin, Reno and Tri-Cities. Actually I don't think I flew in Lawrenceville, just a spectator. Had not planned to attend but got ticked off at my job and headed out on my bike for several days. Nats was one of my stops. I've been to all of them at Muncie since 2010 but only spectating. Was planning to fly beginner stunt this year but trashed my plane a couple weeks prior. Barring any issues, I'll be there next year. I wish I could work it out to fly both stunt and speed limit combat but the schedules clash.

Thanks, Matt
