It gets me how control line has been split up even though I haven't been to a NATS for some time. The move to Muncie was a good thing in a way as we could depend on the location and make travel plans. Also for those few of us that flew more than one type of CL could figure a decent way of competing. I enjoyed seeing the scale planes and competiters. I have in the past competed in racing, carrier and stunt. Combat and speed were fun events to watch. With the exception of stunt look at how some of the events have dropped in participation. One year we had a father and son that were trying to compete in a racing and speed event as well as carrier. But, I guess you have to make choices on what events you can do good in. D>K

This year is a special circumstance. The 2018 F2 World Championships ended right on top of the provisional dates selected for the C/L portion of AMA National Championships. See https://stunthanger.com/smf/open-forum/2018-f2-world-championships-48447/. As a result C/L Speed and C/L Racing would have had great difficulty staging a National Championship.
There was a concerted effort to pull together the various C/L SIGs and move all of C/L to a date that would miss the World Champs, but a deal could not be put together. So, Speed and Racing opted to move out to the last week of the NATS. This is something no one would liked to have done but it is the best decision available considering the situation.
Time to move on...
