AMA grass circles for Nats.
« on: June 30, 2008, 02:41:26 PM »
I went out to AMA today to take a look at the 600x600 grass area (circles). They are in great shape (as of today). We have had so much rain this spring there has been no need for irrigation. I don't know if they rolled the grounds or not, but that is in good shape too. You know, I'll make sure it's cut close this year, maybe the old Lark can get off the ground this year. See ya in a couple weeks, have a safe drive.

Blessings
Allen

By now it looks like the people would be ready to fly off the grass pad.  You know the AMA could say  if you don't like it go fly somewhere else.  We should be in Muncie some time the evening of the 11th.  I still remember the days when there was no practice on the official flying sites when were allowed to use military bases.  For guys like me it is a privelage to get to fly at the Muncie site.  See ya all there,  DOC Holliday

That's good news. If it's in good shape it can be a lot easier and more pleasant than standing out on the pavement all day. The grass itself was fine last year, but the underlying tractor tire tracks made it a little rough.
