Who are these people trying to sell me something that I do not want? Is this approved by the AMA?
-
I have received no less than SIX (6) of those and each one said that if I did not respond "RIGHT THEN" I would not be included in the directory--- I have NEVER responded (tore them ALL up and threw them in the trash) yet I still get them. NOW GET THIS--- Today I received an E-Mail supposedly from AMA that again said that if I did not respond IMMEDIATELY I would not ... . You know the drill. Yada yada yada blah blah blah
I innediatelt put that into my trash bin too.

Thanks, I did the same as well.

Same here, all those AMA cards have been sent to their final reward. The book I look forward to is put out by PAMPA. It was always with me when I went out of town to schools, vacations and such. DOC Holliday

86 the card. What a waste.

I have never gotten anything like this in the mail. I almost kinda feel left out! n~ I sent my renewal in at the first of the month (about the 5th or 6th) and got my 2008 card back already, though. That was quick turnaround.

Dumb question but approximately how many members are in the AMA?

I hear 150,000. I guess we could look onthe website! :## :## LL~

I am truly one of the worlds great procrastinators. Fortunately I may not have procrastinated too long. I got my 4th or 5th "Final Notice" from AMA yesterday. I may fill that out next week or next month or sometime.

Is this the same thing I got? I got a letter from AMA tell me to update by biography. I called and they asked questions about this forum and my life. Is the the same ?
-
This is more than a bit aggravating - I've received quite a bit of unwanted mail from the AMA, from DVDs to solicitations for Visa cards.
If there are indeed 150,000 members, and all of them receive these mailings, there might be some serious money spent. ~^ ~^
Here's a question: Has anyone thought about how much it could COST????? ??? ??? ???

Good point Bob!
I send them annual dues "assuming" it covers my membership, Insurance, AMA Salaries and items related to me.
I never intentionally fund a "Junk Mail" activity!

I get about 1% from the AMA of what I get from the NRA. Don't worry, be happy! LL~ Steve

I suspect that the junk mail actually amounts to INCOME for the AMA, typically the
advertisers are paying for the use of the mailing list..
I don't seem to get much of this crap from them, I think I remember sometime checking
a box telling them not to sell my data, perhaps?

or what it's worth, the next AMA President has chosen not to respond.....

Isnt 8.5 million dollars enough to take in a year? round figures $50.00X 170,000 = 8500,000
