It arrived!
« on: October 04, 2019, 05:03:50 PM »
My Stalker 46RE arrived !!  This will go in a Super Chipmunk which will be started next spring. After the regionals are out of the way.
The plan is to replace most or all of the wood, and then built according to Fitzgerald's suggested modifications.  Should be fun.

Enjoy your building.  Plane to bench run the motor?

So you're going to throw away the kit and just use the plans, wings and hardware?

This is why I scratch build -- I'm just too thrifty, I guess.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I guess that ultimately it will depend on the wood in the box. If it's decently light and cut out right, then I have no real objection to using it. Just not holding my breath on that.
But if I do just use it as a template set, then I could resell the kit later if I wanted. Recover some of the cost.

Will see how it all goes next year.

At some point, I would assume so.  I'll have to ask Ruslan what the reccomended break in procedure is on it, as there was no info with it.

They were quite numerous.  There is a thread on here regarding the subject.  It will add significant work, but should make a superior result.
