$75? ...for the privilege of a Drone and R/C ARF oriented magazine delivered to my door.
Anyone know what caused the 30% increase in dues!!!
My guess is the new insurance premium for all the kiddies and their Drones, who belong to NO Clubs and fly wherever the Hell they please.
Could be attrition too? I'm a Luddite, but I'm not dead yet.

Old news. AMA sent stuff via email and paper offering a chance to renew before September, and it was discussed here.
Dues have stayed flat for a good long time and the world just keeps getting more expensive, it pretty much had to jump up at some point.
-
Mostly, our AMA had been forced by the FAA and Homeland Security to deal with drones....HUGE legal expenses....

Peabody:
I'd like to see the references for that. How have they forced AMA to take on drones? Let's see the back-up for what you are claiming.

Doug, remember we lowered the dues for club membership, result is you will spend less this year even with the AMA increase.
-
It sucks, but I'm thinking there's a real good chance they won't be getting 75 bucks from me. D>K

I took advantage of their offer of paying up for two years at the old price. I got two years at the senior rate for $93.00
-
AMA had a good deal going back in Aug and Sept. 2 years for $113 open rate. Covers 2016 and 2017.

I paid my $93 for the two-year renewal at the Senior rate. Probably my final time, since 'our' AMA is becoming a quadcopter/UAV mouthpiece......which is why I now refer to it as the 'Academy of Multirotors & ARFs'.

Douglas, this is what happens when you don't read the magazine. It was also posted on here also back then.

Your right Doc, I don't read the magazine. I flip through it between the mailbox and dumpster.

I guess it all works out. We're alive and well as a Club.
