« on: April 28, 2018, 09:06:21 AM »
I did it, I pulled the trigger , Im guilty, I joined the AMA.  The only thing I really expect to get out of this is access to contests and perhaps the ability to fly in some places, but whatever.  Im in the club now, boys!

It does seem less than a swell deal, since AMA insurance is supplemental, and only kicks in after your homeowners or renters insurance has tapped out.

Wonder if any contest organizers might be willing to accept a proof of insurance letter? The bass fishing club I was in required that we have liability insurance on our boats IF we were going to use them in a club tournament or activity. At the time, the $ amounts were $100k for slow boats and $300k for fast boats, but those have probably gone up in the last 15 years. A local insurance agent also wrote a liability policy for the club for our tournaments, and I don't think the price was terrible. Might be worth calling the insurance lizard (Geico)? One thing about that...pay the company direct, not the agent. I won't bother you with the story right now, and no, it wasn't my money the agent stole.  D>K Steve
