You Have a Choice

I have been selling laser cut kits of the Baby Ringmaster since August 2010. I have been selling Ringmaster Jr. laser cut kits since January 2010. My Ringmaster Jr. kits are designed for fuel or electric power. I am now offering laser cut kits of the Ringmaster Jr. Flash. Most of my kits do not include a decal. My kits do not include instructions. All my kits have full size CAD plans that show all parts full scale. I will not produce a kit that someone else is producing.
Brodak says they are selling Baby Ringmaster and Ringmaster Jr. kits. They do not show these kits on their website yet. I have it on good authority that they are working on a Ringmaster Jr. Flash kit. Brodak kits have decals. Brodak kits have instructions in the kit. Brodak has done a lot for the C/L community.
Brodak sells a Baby Flite Streak kit for beam mount engines; it is a 26 ¼” wingspan 150 square inch airplane.
I am selling a Baby Flite Streak kit for radial mount engines; it is a 24” wingspan 137 square inch airplane.
You have a choice of which of these kits you buy. Buy the kits that best meet your needs or that have the features you want or need.

Odd. I haven't seen or heard of a Ringmaster of any kind come out of Brodak.

Here is my question to Brodak and John's reply. A search for Ringmaster on the website finds an instruction book for the Ringmaster Jr.

No I was not aware of that. My Ringmaster Junior and Baby Ringmaster are already in production. It shouldn't hurt your sales in any way because mine will include decals, full size plans, instruction book, etc and will cost a bit more.

They will probably have different methods of construction and there are a few varieties of JR Ringmasters to choose from. The Flash is a favorite of mine and I really don't care who produces it but Pats is first on my list for these.
All of Pats kits that I have built have been very good flyers.

I can't speak about the Brodak designs, I don't know. My Ringmaster Jr. has the original shape except for the wing profile. I use a modified Eppler 473 for better flying characteristics. My Jr. includes a weight box and the parts and drawings to build it as fuel or electric powered. My baby Ringmaster uses scaled down S1 shape with the Eppler 473 wing, it is basically a 1/2 scale S1. My Ringmaster Jr. Flash has the original shapes with the same Eppler wing as the Jr., in fact it is the Jr. wing flipped over to get the bellcrank to the outside. My Flash has a weight box. The wing profile prevents my airplanes from being Classic legal.

Pat, what about the airfoil on the Sportster? Is it the original, Classic legal wing?

The Sportster wing profile is not original. It is thicker and the leading edge is not as sharp. It is another modified Eppler 473. The wing is smaller than the S1 Ringmaster, and the airplane is heavier. It looks like the original, but if placed side by side the new Sportster will be seen to have a better wing. I am designing these airplanes to fly well and allow people to fly an old design without risking an expensive collectors model.
