Brodak and SIG sell aluminum profile LG (pairs). I like the one for the SIG Fazer, with the legs narrowed and bends tweeked a bit. I believe one of the sets Brodak offers is the SIG Fazer LG. SIG also sells flat blanks that you can start with.
It appears that all model aviation aluminum LG's are 6061T6...maybe not optimal but works fine, and no need for annealing, bending & re-heat treating which would be needed for more serious alloys of aluminum....IF you radius the bends decently (say 3x thickness).
I'm not a sheet metal guy or engineer, and I've used both aluminum and CF LG's, but IMO, CF LG's seem to be too stiff and tend to bounce...and bounce...and bounce. Anyway, I prefer the aluminum LG as more forgiving, and suggest avoiding all the usual axles that the R/C bods use, 'cause they're really way too heavy for our use.
