It is mixed emotions when you get done with your building project (or in my case, recovering / upgrades project). The weather will not let you go fly it, so nothing to do but clean up your mess and think about what to do next. And hope that there will be a flyable day between now and the new year. :-\
Looks real good from 20ft away.
OS FP .25 on a uni-flow tank.
tipped the scales @ 33.2oz
Mods:
Adj leadouts, tip weight box, arrow shaft pushrod with ball links, 2in elevator cord.
DONE!

I looks good to me. Try a 9-4 APC and launch at 11400. It works on a Flite Streak clone.
-
10x4 prop.....10300-10500 you'll be happer S?P

Line tension seems to be better with the 10-4 even with the same lap times ( due to the lower RPM?). Try them both.
-
I'll agree with the APC 10-4 on a FP-.25. I have one on my P-Force and use this combo, and also on a Flight Streak ARF. Good combo on a Ringmaster also.
Type at you later,

10-4 on the 10x4 LL~
Thanks guys!

Come on down Paul...Warner Robins isn't that far...Gonna be mid 60's today with no wind. Bob Dixon and I are going out at 1.

Paul,
That turned out real nice....I llike it. Now for some Pink lettering...... ;D
-
Thanks for the invite Dave! But it would take me about nine hours to get there. You guys have fun!
And Zuriel, I am not man enough to fly a plane with Pink on it. <=

Aw heck, Paul. Even real men like quiche.
I wish I could finish anything right now, even a 1/2A.........

Love to see more photos if you can. very nice clean looking plane.

Paul, one of our fellow club members just completed the same identical plane and powerplant as you just built. I'm not sure of the weight, but I was surprised that it did indeed feel light. He is one of our newer members still trying to beat ole terra firma. He's trying to complete the beginners pattern but recent problems with older outdated and malfunctioning equipment led him to build the same model as you presented. The plane started life with a OS FP.20 per the instructions that you've probably seen on the net. Well, things always don't work as planned and the plane was indeed in need of more power. He switched to the FP.25 and never looked back. Same prop as your running and it gives him some real confidence. The weather has presented a problem for our club as well as temps have barely risen out of the 40's and blustery winds. Today Saturday the weather seemed great but unfortunately I had to work. I suppose he was flying it today as tomorrow appears to have rain in the forecast. Dan put it through the paces a few weeks back which is always cool to see your plane put through its paces. Good Luck and maybe you might catch a break Ken & Shawn

Need an ID on the model. Looking at it now, I can't decide what it is! LL~

Sig SkyRay 35.

Ok John you asked for it.
This plane has been crashed and patched. Now a total recover was in order.
A few more of the SkyRay.
-
I *thought* it was a Skyray. Thanks.

Was you just pulling my leg Big Bear?
-
Very cool Paul. It looks like it's ready for some military markings.
I like it! x:
-
Maybe?
How is your poop soup?
-
Was you just pulling my leg Big Bear?
Yeah, Buddy! LL~ Sorry if it caused any confusion. ;D
Bill
-
No problem BB. Is does not take much to confuse me. n~
-
I like the name on the side of your pushrod. That should be the motivator for your markings.
Can't wait to see it fly. Supposed to be winds of 28 mph tomorrow by noon here. Come on over.

Maybe?
How is your poop soup?
All in check now. Man, that was nasty!
-
I like the name on the side of your pushrod. (snip)
Which is? I seriously can't read it, too small on my monitor.

Well, I love snow, but we only get ice storms, usually. Which can lead to days, even weeks, of no power! LL~ Right now the 40 days of Noah have struck, it seems.
-
I like it! You should put some skies on it and take it for a test flight today.
I agree with some of the other guys, it would look even better with some military lettering.
Keep up the good work
(oh and give Mom a hug from me and tell her Happy Birthday)

The Sky Ray looks great. Now you can get ready for the next project. I am stillworking on my shop. Did push about 1/2 inch snow flurry off the drive. H^^

Hey, Buddy, that thing BEGS to be done up in Vietnam era NAVY markings. it's already dove gray. a big flashy squadron marking on the tail....... or MARINES, like my buddy's squadron of F-4s, a big red running devil on a white diamond all outlined in red on the fin/rudder. VMFA 212 I *think*. I could go on.............
-
Mongo,
Sounds like plan. I will see what I can find.
If you have any pictures, send them my way.

How about this?

-
Paul,
That looks good and fairly easy to replicate.
-
HI Paul,
I was wrong, it was VMFA-232.
I am going to try and post a pic of one of their F-4s in 1970. The squadron insignia was on the fin at some time. Not hard to do! Plus I would add some red to the wing tips and stab/elev tips, etc.. ;D
-
Anything along the lines of your picture or the one I show, just something to "tart it up" a bit! You can take a little poetic license. ;D
-
Howdy Bill,
I think Paul had his Skyray kinda looking like the F4 in the picture above before LL~ LL~ LL~
Sorry Paul >:D
It would be interesting to know the story of the plane. I can see the seat rails extended and the vertical stab torn off.
-
HI Z-Man,
I don't have a clue on the history of that picture. From the obvious damage, flat tires, etc, and the fact the crew punched out, I don't see how the plane got to that stage of sitting on the tarmac with out being destroyed. Unless there was an emergency ejection on the flight line due to an internal (engine??) explosion. I never saw a Phantom land itself! LL~
