All Season Patch: September flights
« on: September 07, 2008, 06:32:46 PM »
It was a lovely day to fly.  70 Degrees and overcast.  A little still at first but very nice.  Joe Thompson, Steve Smith, Ted Winterman, Robert Storick and I all got in flights.  Gary Hajek showed up for a little coaching.

This is the ninth month in a row for Steve and me.  We are 3/4 of the way to another patch.

regards,

Those of us here in the Heart of Dixie think there is nothing special about flying every month--several times each month!! VD~ S?P H^^

When my son quit flying I lost the urge to go for the all season patch and have never really thought about it since.  Of course being retired now I guess I can pick and choose a little diffent now.  Hope you guys make it,  DOC Holliday

I know what you mean, Jim.  I lived in San Antonio, Texas for over 45 years.  We enjoyed good flying weather all year round most of the time.  It did seem strange to visitors to use sun block at Christmas...

My regular flying partner, Steve Smith, and I started keeping track 2-3 years ago, just for fun.  Going after the patch challenges us to fly when the weather here in St. Louis is a lot less than perfect.

Take care,

Better mail in and get the patches now - AMA is discontinuing ALL patches and the ones they currently have in stock are on "Closeout" price list.  There was an ad in the latest MA mag, and the website has them under the "Closeout" category.

Hi Bill,

AMA all season patch? Never heard of it? Down here in Stuart Florida we try to fly 6 days every week. Of course we do miss somedays. Hot and humid sometimes then of course we do get hit or brushed by the Big winds from time to time. Fay whacked us with 13 inches of rain in two days. Almost one day really. I am sure you all saw the TV showing all the flooding. You know they really make it look bad on the TV. Probably less than 1 % of the places here flooded. But if your in the 1% area it isn't nice. Winter time we try to fly same as summer time. Once in a great while we don't fly cause it is to cold and the engines would be hard to start.    #^Not!!  y1 We have no building season as most of you do. Doc Holliday visited here once and came to our flying place. I'm sure he liked it. So if any of you ever go down I 95 through Martin county be sure to check out our site. Halpatiokee Park right there next to I 95 on the east side. If it is near 8:00am we will be there. Toby,Troy, Roy, Lynn , Dennis and Chuck.
