I'm guessing hydrogen peroxide rockets?
Quite a nice airplane. Wild Bill would be proud.

No, actually there are four model airplane jet engines! Quite amazing, the ultimate hang glide. The really amazing part of this video is the scenery. One does not have to leave this country to see some amazing stuff.

There is a video of him hitting the canyon wall. What about the restriction on over flights of the canyon?

That's some clever video editing, an amusement video.
... I liked it. ;->

He flew over the west end of the Canyon where there is limited restriction. I have been to Toroweep on the north rim far west of the visitors center on the north rim and didn't see a person in two days. It is very remote. The road is marked four wheel drive only but Rebecca and I did it in a two wheel drive rental car. You can camp 25 ft from the rim.

I don't think the crash video editing was all that clever, but I also liked it. I'm undecided which part of the Grand Canyon flight would be the scariest. 1) Getting all the permits from the NPS. 2) Riding the heli while hanging on outside, while wearing that wing and getting buffetted from rotor wash, at low altitude with no hope of recovery. 3) The flight itself. 4) The parachute part and landing with all that weight on the back. To me, I think #1 or #2.
I believe that parts of the Grand Canyon are on the First People (aka "Native" Americans) reservation, and they would probably be more willing than the NPS to allow the flight, with the correct incentive$. y1 Steve

WOW, some of his body parts must be much larger than are mine.

I just looked at the video. I had not when I made the comments above. I watched this video several months ago and I recognised the spot he used then. It is Guano Point on the West Rim. It is not to far from the glass overlook. Toroweep would be across on the south rim.

I'm amazed also - brass seems like it would be way too heavy for a flight like this.. ;->
