Pictures of finished AIRBENDER Prototype

Here are the pictures of the first finished AIRBENDER prototype.  The first thing I would like to do is thank Allen Brickhaus and Jean Pailet for their influence in aesthetics and design influence in developing this model.  

The model has a 54" wingspan and 555 sq in wing area.  I have packed all my engines for our move back to New Orleans but I designed this plane for a Randy Smith tuned OS .46.  I stuck a spinner on the nose so you could get an idea of the complete profile.  

I plan to have this model ready to kit early this summer after we move back to NOLA and I get my shop re-established.  

The kit will be laser cut and I am flirting with the idea of a  Millennium wing kit as an option.  That is not a definite though.

I know you all want to know prices but with the balsa market being so volatile right now, I really hesitate to quote anything.  Pricing will depend to some extent on how many orders are placed and hopefully earlier than later to avoid any increase in balsa pricing.
I assure you the pricing will be in line with other kits of equal value currently on the market.

Thanks for your past business and I hope this is one model that you will find appealing. I especially like the lines of this plane and the fuselage has a classic look to it.

very nice lookin airplane .  Sorry about my name suggestion, forgive me I was just trying to be funny. Again sorry Nice lookin plane. By the way anyone know the wing area of an S1 ringmaster?    jim

Two points,  I think the S-1 is under 400 squares.

The AirBender has wing area, correct percentages of flaps, stab and elevator and moments to help any flyer get to the Advanced class or even Expert with the correct amount of coaching and practice time.  You should find this model a very nice and respectable model to fly in sport and contests.

Hi Jim,

"Which" Thunder Tiger?  If it's a ".36", I would go with the Johnson .29.  I would go with the Johnson .29, probably, regardless!  it should be lighter than any of the Thunder Tigers and it will have "plenty" of power for a Ringmaster. (as you know! LOL!!)  Plus, it is very "period correct".
