After many trials and time spent finalizing a multiple number of publications, I retrieved my Arcturus I from Byron Barker and with his help fitted the new engine to the Arcturus I. To minimize the number of holes in the side of what was a OS Max .40vf piped power plant, I asked Byron to fit a tru flow venturi of .177" diameter (#16 drill bit) to the Evolution with an RSM ST copy needle valve and a C.F. Slattery tongue muffler.
Three flights have ensued and the repeatable results are such: 5.25 ounces of SIG 10% Champion fuel (20% oil, half an half) with a Rev-Up 12 X 5W prop with a release of around 9900/10,000 rpm. This has given me an average lap time of about 5.2 and 5.25 seconds per lap with a full time (from engine start to landing roll-out stop) of 6 minutes and 40 seconds to 7 minutes. The power plant came on at the tops of the manuevers with a sight "beep". I can see that I need to shim the tank slightly, but would begin to use this combination of the Arcturus I and Evolution .60.
