Title: Air Compressor Brands
Post by: Phil Goldberg on February 12, 2017, 01:54:36 PM
Any advice on compressor brands.  I want a small compressor to power a gravity feed gun to spray nitrate and butrate dope.  Any suggestions good quality brands that I can consider will be welcome.  Thanks,  Phil

Look at the paint gun you want to use and figure out how much Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) you gun will require. Your paint gun will have a minimum CFM it needs to work correctly, if compressor is too small you might only be able to paint in short sessions to allow the tank to recover.

I got mine from Harbor freight.  http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=air+compressor   Depending on the size you need they have all sizes from $50 up

I have been happy with my Harbor freight small Central Pneumatic pancake and the HF guns and on 25" length of the very small diameter air hose...the HVLP guns do not need the CFM something like a Binks Model 29 Auto paint gun does

The one I got is frequently on sale for $39

While I would be first to agree a lot of HF stuff is crap... My frugal butt is very happy with the quality and duration of these el-cheapo guns and compressor
