Title: Agile Arrow
Post by: john e. holliday on February 13, 2016, 07:24:34 PM
A little story about the plane for the Stunt Hanger birthday give away.   How many remember Red Rheinhardt and his design called the Stunt Wing.  I built one and flew it several years ago at VSC and also at a St Louis contest.   Had to put a Higley heavy hub on it with a larger spinner, two inch if I remember right.  The first flight was at VSC that year and I made changes at Aunt Betty's place.   Sure tamed it down.    Jim Thomerson seen it and liked it and started his version.   The Agile Arrow was what he came up with.   I had always wanted to build one but other things go in the way.  Jim made it fly really well.  So if you guys/gals want something different to build get on the thread with your real name as Sparky says.   I must say Jim has been one of my heroes from the early days of my son and I flying together.   Wish Jim was still with us so he could tell the story of the mouse race in which I used a twig to plug up the tank so we could get the race in as one of the vents fell out about the second pit stop.   Any way get on the thread and have fun.
