After playing with this program I have discovered the a PDF file will be rather large. So I will be doing it in a secured HTML format. Also a change will be the each issue could be done in 2 volumes to cut down on the load time for the guys on dial up. Approx 50 pages in each volume. I have thought about this a while and I will be releasing the first 50 pages to the open public so you can get a feel of what I am talking about when I say the NEW REVOLUTION of the magazine industry. But in order to see the next volume you will have to be a paid subscriber.
I don't think that some people have a grasp on what it takes to do this. To create this site is took 1500 hrs (I have a counter) The hosting costs along with a few program Cd's at $800.00 ea. (what a rip off) Let alone the hrs it takes to put the magazine together and it will only get better as I lean this program better. Trust me I'm not complaining I am more than willing to take the challenge on (just the kind of person I am).
The real challenge is getting the writers to write (like herding cats) but I think that once this hits the screen people will say that I did know what I was talking about.
This all started when I was desk editor for Stunt News and I needed to bring them into the 21st century with the file transfer. With the constraints of being second in command I had no latitude to put my ideas into work without asking permission (It easier to ask forgiveness than to ask for permission).
I am in no way in competition with Stunt News - Control Line World or SSW they will just have to keep up once the ball gets rolling down hill. If you will notice I have given CLW magazine space, Stunt news and will probably give SSW a spot spot in the first issue. This hobby is to small for exclusivity.
For something I started as a test it has turned into the fastest growing site on the planet. With over 2 million page views and over a 1000 members in less than a year. So I must be doing something right.
