I want to fasten (glue) a plastic tank to a piece of plywood that has "ears" with slots so i can raise it up and down on a profile fuse... I know you can just rotate the uniflow but that has never worked very well for me as the tube always "vibrates' back to where it wants to live. What is the best adhesive to use?

The best adhesive that I've found is to use tie-wraps, with fuel tubing stuck in as necessary to hold the thing in the right position up and down.
Shoe Goo works well to fool you into thinking that it'll hold forever -- until your tank falls off.

You need to isolate the tank from vibration. Foam between the tank and plywood.

3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 5200. cures 24 hrs.
$$$$$$ but permanent, remove with a hot wire cut.
Seal tube well after using.

I've used Silicon Glue with good results on metal tanks.

I wouldn't use any glue, just makes it more difficult to make changes. I use wire ties with balsa spacers top or bottom depending on tank position. Can't see it but this Ringmaster has a balsa spacer on the bottom between the wire ties and tank to hold it in position. The front is held out a tad with a 1/8" plywood spacer, insures a clean cut off. Will work on either side of the fuselage if you have room behind the engine.

Did some testing with old tanks lying around. Cleaned well with denatured alcohol and then used rtv on one and epoxy on the other. Both popped right off!!! Suspect release agent in the plastic or maybe oil residue even though I cleaned them well. It did not work. The marine sealant sounds better, will try next as buddy has a boat shop and has this stuff lying around. Seems like nothing is really gonna stick to th plastic tank.

Hi Chris,
Go buy a tube of RTV silicone. Lay the tank on the adjustable plywood plate and run a bead of the RTV around the tank. Hold the tank in place, dip your finger in some alcohol to smooth it to the tank and plate. Let it cure overnight and the tank will not come off the plate. It works great with metal tanks also .Eric Rule taught me this years ago.

Cept the only thing that is Fox is the case, it's really a 30 because of the Australian ceramic piston, cylinder and head. You have seen it at Brodaks several times, probably just don't remember it.

Funny you should mention that.
I usually make a detailed ply and epoxy
mounting plate that takes a few hours to
concoct. I gave my tank assembly away
and needed a quick solution for a mount.
The picture says it all. The coraplast is
bolted to the fuse and the tank is attached
with Nyties.
It seems plenty strong but I haven't
flown it yet.
I will report back this weekend.
