Thanks to Allen Brickhaus.  Here are some photos of Michael Jenning's and his full fuselage YAK 9 D.  I have no idea how old these photos are but I really like the bottom view.

T. Michael posted those pictures here a year or so ago, maybe 3 years, not sure.
   
The original from Mr. Quek used a Red Head Merco .35.  Today I would use the AT .36 or PA .40UL.  Definitely more engine than the old Merco.
