I know that a year or two ago, Tom Dixon ran "Vintage" at the Marietta/Cobb Co. Sky Rebels contest. He used his original 25 year rolling cutoff date, IIRC. Interesting that I do not remember a single plane entered from later than Dec. 31, 1969. Seems they were all "Classic" legal planes and the word was put out a year in advance I think.
I would not oppose flying "Classic" and "Vintage" at the same time on the same circle. Only one entrant per pilot. At the end, the two classes would be split and recorded that way. It may or may not increase participation in CLPA. If it did, I would think that it would be a good thing!
OTS has been flown in the past with Phase I and Phase II both at the same time and broken down as proposed.
As for the VSC, I would never suggest a change or attempt to get it into the "rule book".
On the other hand, I can always build a Stiletto 660 to fly in PAMPA, or a USA-1 to fly in BOTH!
