Today Carter Alphonso earned his wings, this young man (10 yrs old) soled with a U-Key 40 trainer complements of Brent Rogillo.
Him and his Mom came over to visit and we got in some flying, on the last flight of the day, Carter took off flew out the tank and landed by himself.
I think that the hook has been set.
At our Oct contest in Baton Rouge, La. Richard Oliver donated a Profile Oriental with engine to Carter,you should have seen him light up.
He also got a set of lines, don't remember the donor, Bob Dore' donated a handle, and Andy Chase of Andy's hobby town donated a gallon of fuel also.
Looking forward to working with this young man some more...
I gave him an LA 40 for the model today, and he had a good time flying with it...

It's nice to know about and hear about modelers promoting the hobby by helping others, especially children. A great hobby it is for the young and for the old. We are the old!
If you like, you can surprise Carter with graphics and lettering. I'll be glad to offer anything you would like for Carter's model or a future model.

Gotta correction, the fellow that gave Carter the handle is Raymond Dore', from Lafayette, La.
Ray also makes these handles, sorry about the "Faux-Paus. (That's French for OOPS)
