Title: Action-Cam Flight..3 POVs
Post by: Shug Emery on August 20, 2020, 06:33:51 AM
From time to time I like to strap my wee Mobius action-cam on a plane and do a pattern. Exciting to see what is happening on the other end of the lines.
So stuck it on my SV-11 and commenced to stunt.

I will watch it again when I get more pop corn.  Really cool.  One thing I noticed was the flap deflection which seemed to be about the same in the rounds as it was in the squares.  I have always thought we flew the pattern on about 20 degrees of deflection.  I may have to rethink that.  (It would be informative to have that tip cam pointed at the tail so we could see the elevator deflection better).

Now I know why my Pilot figure demanded an ejection seat!

Next time I do it I will go for that angle. Fun to do to truly see what goes on out there.

I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.  The motor runs great.  I now appreciate the Vomit-Cam reference.

That camera represents a lot of added tip weight.  I could not see excessive roll in the corners.  Perhaps it's my ability to observe in the video.  Did you compensate with added tip weight inboard?

I did not. Kinda just went for it. Did not effect it much with that PA 75 pulling it.

Very nice and that is how an engine and flight should go. Kudos. and thanks, the wife now sees it is not about only going around in circles.

Righto...it is about diving towards the ground from 45 feet!
