ACES LOUNGE chat
« on: June 04, 2006, 07:39:43 PM »
I know this sounds kinda challenged but, as long as I have been member here I have never figured out how to get to the Aces Lounge Chat Room. I know that originally it was an invitation only thing but, now it sez its open to all. I'd kinda like to see what happens there.  Anyone can jump right in here.........

Phil

Phil, back up one notch from here to the main index.  Scroll down to the Aces.  Click on Aces now open....  Scroll down to Now open and you will se a block titled  Nickname. Put your moniker that you wish to chat with ( I use Bigiron) and the chat room "Should" open

I found my way there a couple of times and was always the only one there.  The echo is intimidating.

It was great talking to all three of you guys today, that is before I got booted.  Seem like the system had a hiccup and booted everyone out.
Let's try it again next week.  Say 21:00 hours Sunday?  That's EST.

I may have done it to you all, when I was trying to find a dignified way to exit...I finally just hit the red "X" at the upper right hand corner.  Then I was locked out altogether too, couldn't go back in.  Sorry!  I enjoyed the chat too, confusing as it was.

9:00 Sunday sounds good to me!

Enjoyed the chat and I'll drop by more often. Down here in Central Fl a C/L guy gets mighty lonely for talk.  I'm working on the guys at our club(RC) with some success but I'm not a really accomplished C/L flyer(improving) so I can only give so much help, but lots of encouragement. Only time we get C/L diehards is with a couple of snowbirds who drop in for the winter(Bob Robertshaw and friend).

One thing I did (wrong) last time I was in chat with youse guys...a few new guys came in (it said, in text) but I noticed that their names didn't show up in the small panel to the right side of the screen. I figured that a 'refresh' should fix that. DON'T DO THAT! It booted me out, I couldn't get back in, couldn't log out, nothin'. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get back in. Seems like a strange glitch in the  f~ software, to me.   n~ Steve

If having trouble you may want to make sure you disable your pop up preventer.   y1

Robert, Maybe you could add a shortcut(button) to Chat on the toolbar? Might get more folks on there...

I tried to do that and that is what caused forum KAOS. I had to back up. Their files are unstable. As it is now I added this and I know this works because I did it. Whit the other they made it and it does not work yet.

I personally dont have a problem navigating from the main pulldown menu, but from reading questions about where it is, ect, a shortcut from the main page might help them with the added convenience of one, getting more users involved on it. Yes, bookmarking is an excellent idea(add to My Favorites), or put the shortcut to it on your desktop.
