Philly Fliers Stunt Contest Report and Results by PhillySkip
« on: August 04, 2017, 07:37:07 PM »
Day 1: July 29th Neshaminy State Park Flying Site: The weather forecast wasn't looking good which I'm sure kept some pilots away, however,CD Steve Dinerman said we're flying ,and the show did go on. It drizzled off and on ,and we had some very "challenging" winds to deal with. Dennis Moritz manned the grill, and did a fine job! We had a fun day in spite of the conditions. Only one plane "bought the farm" and was repaired to fly again in the 2nd round. Our CD Steve was able to get some very nice kits for raffle prizes and Brodak's for a $50 gift certificate.  Thanks go out to all Philly Fliers who prepared the field, kept score, judged, and to all non Philly Fliers who jumped in to help out as well.I must mention the tireless effort Rich Martinez put forth to organize both days of the meet and to take care of obtaining the beautiful plaques given out to our pilots. Here are the results of Day 1:

(2) George Waters 322

Profile Expert
(1) Mike Palko 560
(2) Dan Banjock 544

As a side note it, was John Saunders' lucky day as I believe he had the lucky tickets to most of the raffle drawing prizes!

Day 2: July 30th Benjamin Rush State Park home to the Northeast Phila. Radio Control Club and Philly Fliers C/L Club: The weather was just beautiful, not too hot, sunny, with lite breezes running right down the runway. A special thanks go out to the R/C club for giving up a beautiful day of flying and turning the main runway over to the "control line guys" for the meet. Also, on this day the R/C club supplied and prepared the food. Thanks to non Philly Fliers guys for helping out with the judging and other chores. I (PhillySkip) was the CD for the big PAMPA show. Thanks again go out to all of the registration and scoring team, and to all Philly Fliers who helped out in any way they could. Again Rich Martinez did a great job with the plaques and for creating a special trophy given to the winner of the Harry Freeland award for "Top Pilot".A big thanks goes out to Steve Dinerman for obtaining some really great kits for raffles and to Brodak's again for a $50 gift certificate.

It was a hotly contested meet with just a few points making the  difference in many classes. Here are the results:
