I've been off chemo for a couple of weeks now so I am starting to feel a lot better and am getting back into the swing of building again. Since I think I may live a little longer now I took my plastic out to Harbor Freight Tuesday and bought a couple of Items for my inside shop, a converted den. #^
I bought a 16' throat scroll saw and a combo belt disk sander so I could stack cut some parts. I miss the 28" throat of my Shop smith but I am still not well enough to get around in the out side shop. I had a friend go with me to HF and load the saw into the van but had to get a raincheck on the sander combo. I got home and SWAMBO unloaded the van for me when I got home. As not to interupt the wife's bingo I just left the saw in the packing box.
I got a suprise call from Russ and he came over for a visit today and it was a enjoyable get together. I've not gotten out or had much up time for going on about a year so the visit was much appreciated.
We manage to swap lies, eat lunch, talk modeling, and best of all Russ helped me unpack and set up the scroll saw.
My son also dropped of a little suprise for me. His father in law recently passed away from lung cancer. So my son bought a bunch of tools from his widow including the Micro Lux tools shown here. All the tools but the belt sander were sold by Sears in a set with a carrying case. They include a small sabre saw that can also be placed in a mini table and used as a stationary jig saw, an angle grinder/sander, plunge router, drill, rotary tool, pad sander and a power supply to power them. Note; the belt sander is shown in a table in the horizontal mode.
The first 3 photos are of Russ scrutinizing my small pile of O. S. engines. Then the Micro Lux tools. Then the new Scroll Saw. My bench mounted Drill Press (12 speed). Some Planes, Storage Shelf, Some wood and some covering material.
This partially covers the old threads started by RootBeard of show me your shop, Show me your engines, most messy shop etc. **) Just haven't felt good enough till now to get out the camera and take some shots.
Russels visit lifted my spirits as did getting out to go shopping yesterday. And to top it all off SWAMBO won a couple of hundred at bingo tonight and split it with me.
Who says Christmas comes but once a year. **) **)

Glad to hear you are feeling better Tom. I have the exact same scroll saw from Harbor Freight, I really like mine. It did a great job on the plywood print stuff that went into the Lil Zilch. In fact I like mine so much I left my brand new band saw in the box until I get my new house.
Anyway I wish you a speedy recovery my friend in modeling.

Hey Tom, glad to hear you are doing better. Just take care of yourself. By the way your shop looks neater than mine. Have about given up on the new shop in the back yard. Later, DOC Holliday

Tom, just do lazy eights until you run out of fuel. Won't get dizzy that way. Russell

Two things Russ,
Your assuming the airplane will be cabable of doing lazy eights. LL~
You are also assuming I can stand up in one place for 8 minutes. LL~
Dizzy is OK. Not having the strength to stand out there and move around is another. LL~
I may just bring my camera and kibitz. y1
