Title: A Use for Drones

I'm not sure if this came through or not, but if it did I can see myself with a drone!

If a big fish decides to run for it, does this pull the drone into the water?

No loss.

You would rig it with a breakaway connection so the fish's first jerk sets the drone free and the fishing rod takes over.

We used to use a kite to take our Bonita out into the deep water when we would camp overnight on Honeymoon Island... Stick your rod into a PVC holder on shore, set the spool unlocked with the clicker on and go sit by the campfire with your beer...and hopefully you weren't too far gone to notice the clicker going ziiiiiing before you ran out of line on the spool.  LL~ (used to get Blacktip, Lemon and Bull sharks mostly in Dunedin area) Shark is sorta ok to eat smoked...so maybe a lipo fire could enhance that... shark has kind of a strong gamey taste otherwise...

Drone's would be great for getting model rockets out of tree's, just put a mini winch and a hook... heh.

Ummm... let's see... trying to get on topic for C/L Stunt... Oh! Drones could be used as score runners at contest! (Or prolly a better idea is to just give the judges Ipads, and write some scoring software, then you would get instant results too...)

I think they are great for skeet shooting.

Randy, they are not real quick. Where's the sport in shooting them?

The tuna fishing video was excellent, and very well edited. Many TV shows use drones to film scenes out in the boondocks, and really add to the quality and effects. Here's another great video, and perhaps the best part is that the Drone dies. I really shouldn't say that. Quadrotors in and of themselves are not evil, but in the hands of a dumbshit, they become so. The sad thing is that there are so many dumbshits that quadrotors appeal to so strongly. If only the box they come in could be loaded with common sense...alas, no such luck.  :(  Steve

Coincidentally this video from a drone happened yesterday off Sydney.
