Title: A treat at the flying field.
Post by: Andrew Hathaway on October 21, 2014, 08:38:05 AM
Yesterday evening the wind was barely moving, temps were in the low 70s and it couldn't have been better for flying.  But then things got better.  I'd just finished a flight when I spotted something odd just above the horizon.  As it got closer I recognized it was a biplane, and had it pegged as a Stearman that can occasionally be spotted flying around the skies over Salina.  As it turns out, our club's president was a passenger on board.  The pilot flew over at a low altitude and made a couple passes, even turned on the smoke system for a bit.  One of our RC flyers got a few pictures, and a really short video clip...

What a thrill that has to be.
