March in like a lamb
« on: March 01, 2014, 06:31:46 PM »
March came in like a lamb it was a great day flying. Lite winds never blew into the sun.  8)

We got in several flights both electric and IC. Even got in a few BiSlob flights and some stick time on my Big Stick 40.

It was a great day.

We had lovely weather most the week, but it turned today and is supposed to (maybe) snow here Sunday. But the media makes a lot out of slightly bad weather, so it's seldom a big deal.

How does an electric Bi-Slob work? I can't imagine it'd work right.  H^^ Steve

Well, if March came in like a lamb, I don't want to meet the lamb.  Got to see my first college basketball game in person in Lawrence KS,  Allen Field House, lady Jayhawks playing Iowa.  Granddaughters birthday present or part of it anyway.   Had light snow all day and snow all the way there and back.  No snow falling right now.   Temps were and are in single digits.   Well have to go clean the snow off the van so we can go to Church.   Having fun. That big bright light coming up over the horizon sure looks great this AM.   Internet shows single digit temps.   It was snowing pretty good when we left Church and we had to take Teddy, the tea cup Chihuahua out to a friends place so he could become a papa again.  Stopped at KFC for stuff to take home for something to eat.   Anyway my grandson shoveled the drive after it quit snowing.  I think we had maybe 4 inches of snow.   Amazing how many people are still learning that you can't drive the speed limit when the weather is like it is.   Just think couple of more weeks and spring will be here.

John this is where I've been this week; Apollo Beach,  Fl.  Wish it was for fun but it sure wasn't.  Around 80 most days and light winds.   I'll try to drag some of this back with me when I fly home in the AM.

Well I asked my daughter how she liked being back in the area(Kansas/Missouri).  She claims she loves it.   No hurricanes and no ants.  She has forgotten the tornadoes, now has seen the ice/snow storms and forgets about the ants we have here.  Little Chelsea wants to learn to fly my planes.

I remember weather.  Here in south Florida it's totally boring.  81 to 85 during the day, mostly sunny and down  LL~to76 to 79 at night Z@@ZZZ LL~.  Before I get shot, I did have to go home to northwest Ohio in January for a week.  We arrived home while being in a snowstorm from Indy. The snow didn't stop for 3 days, temperature at -29 with 45 mile winds, 6 foot drifts, 3 days of level 3 snow emergencies (if you're caught driving you go to jail).  The roads finally got plowed, we got the driveway plowed along with the front of the garage and immediately left to return to Florida.  Oh yes, the furnace did not shut off and even with additional electric heat the house didn't hit 60 degrees inside.

March, lamb.....Well maybe not.

Here, on March 1st it was 10 degrees. On the 2nd it snowed a foot!  Now on the 6th it is 50 degrees.

We now have massive "lakes" on every low spot on top of the frozen ground.

Next step the ground will be so soft you can't walk on it...

SPRING......PLEASE GET HERE SOON!!!

Well, it was 13 degrees below zero this morning in Vermont, but it warmed up to a balmy 15 degrees above.  I got out the electric Super Clown with its new skis and got in a flight.  Not gonna do that again until it warms up some.  You know, mud season doesn't seem like such a bad thing right now!
