As one of the original founding members of the Metrolina Control line Society
I would like to express my personal thanks to all those who graciously joined us
to help celebrate our 25th anniversary as a club.
25 years ago a small handful of airplane-crazy, fun-loving guys decided to stop
fooling around and form an AMA club with the hope of acquiring a permanent
flying field and hosting contests. Well that hope has been fulfilled with the persistence and work of a lot of good people and it is maintained by the
follow through of other good people with the powers that be.
So you see, at the Saturday night banquet, as I looked out on a large room
filled with smiling and laughing "Control Line People" it was very gratifying
to me to see how far we have come and it made me grateful.
So once again to everyone that joined us and had to sometimes overcome the elements to produce some great flights and to all my fellow MCLS members
and helpers thank you for making this a great weekend to be an airplane guy.
I would be remiss if I didn't thank all the 13 guys in profile stunt who own their
own did a wonderful job of handling any conflicts with other events and kept
flyers on the circle to keep things moving. Great job guys! Oh, by the way
guys, great flying it was a pleasure to judge you.
It can be very easy to miss a chance to say thank you in life but I did not want to miss this opportunity - so THANK YOU ! - THANK YOU ALL.
Sincerely,
Pat Robinson
