For those who may be interested, I took some pictures last weekend of Gordan's new Pathfinder. He has 3 coats of clear on at the time the pictures were taken. The plane is looking pretty good, and it's weight is very close to the design weight of 55 oz's. He should be at 58 oz's. We might have set the design weight too low, as mine at 65 oz's (after gassing off) flies fine at our altitude, and should do even better at mostlocations that are lower than Salt Lake.

Gordan's trim scheme is neat in my opinion because it has two entirely different looks depending on the planes orientation. I think it a clever trim scheme, and looks darned good to me.

Here are the pictures, enjoy.  H^^

Looks great in the pictures.  Really stands out with the different schemes top and bottom.  Nothing like a simple paint scheme.  Guess it won't be at the NATS.  Anyway have fun,  DOC Holliday

Doc,
It may look like a simple paint scheme, but I did more masking on this than any of my other planes that I have done. I had to mask way too many times.I was ready to bag it and start over. The Clear coat is all sanded now and ready for final clear.

PS. Won`t do it again. :(

Gordan,

Whine, whine, whine. I told you you already had a yellow plane.   LL~

Looks pretty good. Hopefully, I'll make it to Golden State and can see it live and in person. i may be done with my new plane by then. Uh, but it won't be yellow. At least I don't think so.

I don't know of anyone else, who keeps their shop that clean!

Oh wait, Bob Hunt might be that neat! ;D

Gordy,
Aren't the checker boards fun.   You have five colors and the checkers thats good for at least 4 rolls of masking tape.  I'm doing some checkers now and wish I had never started it....
The Pathfinder looks terriffic.  Really want to build one when you do all the hard work and get it all sorted out. #^  LL~ LL~

Thanks Randy,
The check board was easier than the sun burst.Because the points all went too the same area. There wasn`t room to paint more than one at a time.

Bill Adair,
Funny you should mention that. My wife just told me to get that plane out of the shop. We are having a cleaning session. And when she Cleans stay out of her way or get cleaned at the same time. Now I have to get my butt down there and help her.

Gordon,

Wish my wife would clean my shop/office, but it's one area she won't touch.

Can't blame her, because everything in here is filed chronologically, but in random stacks!  ;D

Gordan, I see you managed to rat hole some yellow before Pete left town ;)  Interesting choice of trim colors; same as mine!  Fellow fliers love yellow airplanes, they attract all of the bugs away from their own.
Really pretty, I like the different schemes top and bottom.

I know of someone who's model workshop and garage are the same place.  In fact he and his lovely wife hosted a feed there one year.  It is the one and only Lynn Boss out somewhere east of Denver.  His Dad said the lad was always a stickler for cleaning when working on planes.  Myself I clean when ever I can't find something I have dropped on the floor.  DOC Holliday

Hey Gordy,

Can I come over and cut out and build my new airplane on your drafting table since J.M. is nowhere in sight?
