A GREAT DAY IT THE BASIN!
« on: July 10, 2016, 08:55:46 PM »
I just had a great day out at the Sepulveda basin.
The Valley Circle Burners held what was billed as a pot luck/fun fly. what a great idea,
We had more people show up than at most contests. And speaking as someone who really never gets
to enjoy just flying and shooting the B/S with everyone, due to always being the C/D or pit boss.
After today, I am a huge fan of this kind of gathering.

Warren, Here in Oregon we do this frequently when there is not a contest like 3-4 times a year and it is a blast.

Wonderful flying session, bs session, good friends, good food! Thanks Leanna Wescott for the outstanding deviled eggs! My FAVE!  #^

I think Paul Wescott brought a bunch of veggies and dip. Steve Schiff did the honors on sodas.

Warren did carnitas tacos, Sylvia and Lee Strickland did weenie beanie chili. Al Heiger had a black bean fish thing going. I feebed out and brought purchased fried chicken, though it was, at least from Dinahs! (a Fried chicken RESTAURANT, not fast food joint). I regret that I don't have further details on "who dunnit".

At least by the time I left around 1:00, there had been no crashes, but lots of flying. A great day!  ;D

This was way more fun than a contest! Way more participants too.

Wish I could have been there, but alas I was in San Diego that morning headed back home from Advanced Ship Board and Helo Crash Fire Fighting, which I passed, in case you are wondering. LiPo fires covered in the Helo Fire Fighting, LOL.
Glad it was a success, would have liked to meet Alan H, since we have been exchanging some emails.
Next time I hope to be there!
No reason we cannot do this at Whittier also, I think.

Vr,
Chris

Food, flying, fun, frivolity, family and freindship.
No sadness or boredom for the Win.
