A good day to fly
« on: July 24, 2006, 09:25:45 AM »
Saturday was the best day I have had flying all year. My friends that I fly with from Flint and Detroit came up to my little circle for a great day of flying and BSing. What a great day for it too, no crashes, mild temps, slight breeze, many beers drank, burned hamburgers and other good stuff.

I got lots from help from John and Frank trimming my Cardinal. Got my Oriental,(i bought this from Frank) up and flying good, Jay flew his Cardinal like it was on rails. Dan did his combat plane "stand in one spot and hit the butterfly" manouver(think he got it with the lines), bislob formation flying, hacker combat, and saw some sweet flights that John put up with his Smoothie, and Franks star spangled flight with the Pathfinder. AND, the first time I saw an electric go up. It was weird to have the absence of any sound, except for the hum of the motor.

here a few pics of the day.....

first one is Frank at the handle,

second one is a pic of my mentors, Frank and John.....

third one is Franks Pathfinder...

fourth is my arf Cardinal, and Jay's kit Cardinal....

fifth is The Master......

sixth is me and the Oriental....

Thanks for coming up North you guys, I'd have you all up again in a heartbeat.....

Here is a picture of John, Dan and Greg giving the ARF Oriental a good looking at.

I'm calling this event the Greg Bossio Memorial Fly In.  Greg ain't dead but why wait. He's always made our outings more fun to attend and he's become a great and valued friend. So I think just this once we'll honor a fellow before he is fallen and he can enjoy it too.

Hey Greg........................

You have a really nice place up there. Thanks a bunch for having us up. I'd like to do it again next year.
You're a good sport. I have your "pin up" picture for my desktop background.
And...........thanks for those great pictures you took of the Pathfinder.
