Samuel won Nelson .36 slow combat besting all the adults. His first time flying Nelson’s in a contest. He placed 3rd in Speed Limit. He also soloed twice on the Dynajet. It was bittersweet to see him fly the same Dynajet engine that belonged to my dad at the same circle dad flew it at back in the 60’s and myself in the 80’s. I know grandpa would be proud and tickled to see Samuel so enthusiastic about so many disciplines of control line flying. As always a fun time in the “D”.

Really like this post. It's so refreshing to see a young man actually interested in a "hands on" hobby such as model airplanes.
Yer doin' good, Mike!

Enjoy it while you can. Glad to see that young man growing up and enjoying this model airplane stuff. My son now is too busy to play with planes. D>K

I had to chuckle when I saw the picture of him leaning back - he must have been flying the Dynajet at the time. What a blast!

Nice picture of Sam with the jet and the "old guys". This young man is the real deal. I have seen him fly at the Huntersville, NC contests. He's another Richard Stubblefield in the making. His Dad Mike is pretty good, too! As far as the "old guys" in the picture, I almost didn't recognize Steve Kott without his mustache. And I see that Ed still doesn't own a comb. All in fun, guys. Good to see all of you still involved with the controline stuff. Once I get some health issues fixed I hope to get back and try some speed limit airplanes. I've got some "Toothpicks" to build, too.
