RSM Ringmaster

I currently am building an RSM Ringmaster.  The plans show the updated version with the fuse doublers going further over the wing.  Does this make the plane not legal for classic?  I do intend to use the wire landing gear but was not sure about the doublers.

  Z, What I unnerstan is that the outline must remain the same, internally the changes don't matter. I built mine the same way that you are talking about...

Thanks Bob and Gil.  I have never flown OTS and wanted to stay inside the lines.  I have also always wanted a Ringmaster too and thought this would be fun.

Yes, it probably will be fun!  Reading message board topics on old time stunt, and especially stuff about what's legal, can give people an unrealistic idea of what to expect at a contest.  I have never heard the subject of legality brought up even once at any OT contest I have entered, and I fly a plane I chose intentionally to be oddball, not well known (All Australian).  OT contests in my area are as relaxed as you can get and still have a contest.  The goal is having a lotta fun, and the goal always gets reached!    Good luck with your Ringmaster.

On this forum, and others like it, there's a lot of hair-splitting discussion on what's OT- or Classic-legal.  That's just what little stunt dudes do in winter.

In the spring, if you bring your plane and your entry fee, they'll be happy to let you fly it.

Best thing to do is find the rules used in the contests you plan to attend.  PAMPA OTS rules specifically allow structural changes to strengthen the airplane.

Go to the Old Time Stunt forum below and check out the Ringmaster thread. I posted a picture of the one I built this winter. Not sure yet what I'm going to do with it, have enough trouble remembering the AMA patterm much less trying to remember two patterns. Actually 3 if I count the Mirror Meet.

But what the heck how about the next contest we both attend I will fly OTS if you will
