Here is a an interesting photo from one of Les McD's slide collection of the 74 nats..
Anyone care to name the group of flyers in the first photo?
Also a very interesting Stunt model...(but if you look closely...CHECK OUT THAT HORRIFIC LOOKING STRESS CRACK below the canopy...and it looks like it had been quickly repaired with maybe 5 minute expoxy? Otherwise a truly beautiful model....

I think the kid on the far left is Joe Musumeci.  I remember him from Junior High school (this would have been fall '73 to spring of '75).  He was 1 year ahead of me, I didn't really know him that well.  I thought I was a bada$$ because I could actually get a Cox PT-19 to fly...at the school there was a glass display case by the front entrance where they would honor distinguished students, honor society, sports, etc...came to school one day and there was a red Gieseke Nobler and the trophy for the Junior National Champion!  I know he was a protege of Bob Gieseke...I have been meaning to ask Bob about him but I never remember to.

No little wing on the top deck of that Stiletto 35 is why you guys do not recognize a pre teen Kenny Stevens(red and white striped shirt). How about Dennis Adamisin in the top right with the floppy hat!

I see people my age out there climbing mountains and zip lining and here I am feeling good about myself because I got my leg through my underwear without losing my balance

"Anyone care to name the group of flyers in the first photo?"

Could the young lad on the right possibly be Bobby Peterson from the LA area?!???
Could it be that the reason he is holding his plane in that position is to cover a recent re-attachment of the tail section of his airplane?!??

Just wondering.....     n~

BTW: Nice PAMPA hat Kenny! The first of many!
