A "SPITTIN' IMAGE" model by Monarch
« on: October 04, 2009, 09:55:34 PM »
Not knowing just where I would get the most responses I have also posted a similar thread in Half A forum
From time to time I have seen a few of these kits and I would like to know more about the kits, company, and models they produced.

The title of this thread came from the box top of one of the models. I was their slogan:
'A "SPITTIN' IMAGE" model by Monarch'

The slogan suggests that most of the models might have been scale models or semi-scale at least of existing planes.

I would like to know more about their small models (assuming they may have made bigger ones), one of which I noted was for engine sizes .045-.099 and with a twenty inch wingspan. Just a little larger than the Scientific kits I grew up with.
This suggests they may be a little older, say 1950s or early 60s.
I have never seen one of these kits in person, only a few pictures from time to time that leave something to be desired.

Any information or experiences with these even if not first hand would be helpful.

Just a bump and to show an ad someone shared with me from another search. This ad is from June 1953 but I cannot say which publication.

They made a nice B Team Race kit, though I cannot remember which one right now. I think I have a Monarch kit but I'll have to check.
