Well with the weather experts predicting the weather, I expect KANSAS to be like Arizona.  Arizona to be like California.  The eastern half  of the USA getting all the deep snows and blizzards.  We got a hint of snow Christmas eve.  Right now looking out the window watching snow flakes falling and the sun is shining.  Have all the leaves picked up and waiting for snow to get my exercise. LL~ LL~ Have my UK Peacemaker ready for the graphics and the top block almost done on the King Sweep,  the 1/2A Snapper just needs license numbers.  Anyway slowly, very slowly getting engines sorted out.   H^^

Hi Ed,

We got a fair accumulation of snow over night.  Most "plain snow" we have had in years!  Usually sleet makes up most of the accumulation.

It's very pretty outside right now!  Guess it didn't officially make a "White Christmas" here.  :'(

No flying today.........

Brother Larry,

Here in Hades, NC, where summer temps are generally triple digits, and winter temps generally are "shirt sleeve", no one I know has a pair of SKIS! (other than the "water" kind, plenty of those here) LL~ LL~

This has been an unusually cooler fall/winter.  So much for "Global Warming" (that grand economic riches scheme dreamed up by that ex-UN President.)

This is historically the hottest part of NC, for several reasons. ;D

Coldest December in all records here in Charlotte area. The Shi areas 100 miles from me have been open for a month. They had snow in November before they started making it.
I was in Cedar Breaks near Brian Head Utah a few years ago at the end of September  and there was a lot of snow then. That was one of the coldest and windyest places I have ever been in that time of year. ~^

Hi Ed and Everyone,

One of the earliest memories of my life, was from 1947 when I was 2 years old, I followed my dad out to his 1947 Chevy where he cleaned off his windows and he then played with me as I discoverd my first snow. My home was in Gastonia NC near Charlotte. Years later I found a picture my mother had taken of me and dad and the 47 Chevy on that Christmas.
So yes it has been a very long time between white Christmas's in this region.

Just wind and rain here. At least until Wednesday when the weather liars are predicting wind and snow. Sadly, this will likely mean no power ... again.

Sigh.

Ed - Oh yeah, sure. The house, with your camera repair business, your International (?) with the huge tires covered in mud in the driveway, and the flying field out back. I flew with you there once or twice. If I remember correctly, you forgot/lost a good 2 blade Bolly on that field and we went back and couldn't find it. Your camper top on the old Chevy pickup...that thing worked pretty good, as long as we could get Bill Whitson far enough away to not to hear his snoring! Kicking him out to the cab up front still wasn't far enough!  LL~ If you remember, we made the trip to Atlanta contest one year in that little T1000 you had for a while... I can't even remember what planes we brought, but they couldn't have been too big!  n~

I also remember flying with ...."Barney Google" as we used to call him and Bill whitson over at Palm Harbor middle? Haven't thought about Barney in over 25years... I'll never forget some things from flying at PHMS... like how much the old Midwest Messerschmidt wings flexed on Bill Whitsons plane, flying my Yak9 there and learning inverted from you in a couple flights, and you laughing wryly telling me how many planes you wrecked learning inverted alone, heh heh... and best of all, you flying the bright yellow (AASr?) with reverse wingover pullouts that were heart stopping at 3FT. This young teen at the time was truly impressed and had a blast!  H^^ Them's was the days.

G'day folks

It's winter over your way at present but summer here in Oz. Not-with-standing, there was a foot of global warming fell on the Victorian ski fields a few days before Christmas.

Didn't the ex VP who invented global warming claim to invent the Internet? One claim as dodgy as the other.

Actually it was the President of the UN who now lives in Bejing (as one of the richest dudes alive).  He had the scientific reports drawn up by scientists paid for by the UN, and demanded the lead scientist delete anything that contradicted the warming effects.  Like the fact the scientist said there had not be any rise in the Earth's temperature for the three year period before he released his last report.  The UN Pres. ordered him to take that part out of the report.  Seems "Rich Dude" has developed companies to deal with "Global Warning".  I wonder how many poor souls there are that will still believe in GB even when it is known that the whole thing kit and kaboodle was concocted for money making purposes? ???

This old rock has gone through DRAMATIC climate changes, sometimes lasting for decades, in the past, and will do so again.  The "Mini Ice Age" of the late 19th century is a classic example.

All the work in the world will not affect a major climate change for any length of time.  The US Govt. has already tried that, and can actually change some things in a minor way.  I ain't crazy, it's all documented fact.

Douglas  I have owned and repaired many vintage speakers but have never seen a Leslie. This is 1955 vintage ,with a 15" driver and two horns. 15" driver weighs 35-40 pounds. Complete cabinet is 135 pounds. Very efficient as a 4 watt tube amp will drive it. #^

Years ago I bought a 1957 Hammond M3 Spinet Organ. I was talked into it because my buddie wanted the added-on Leslie speaker that came with it and the old Lady wouldn't split them. (Leslie has a rotating horn for a tremelo effect) This is the speaker that alot of Rock bands used in the 60's/ 70's along with a Hammond B3 Organ. My Organ has an 11 watt amp with a field coil speaker and the same drawbars and tone wheel as the infamous B3, which req'd. an external speaker.
My guess is that your speaker is an Organ speaker with a field coil magnet, hence the weight. They make good Guitar speakers also. Nope...I don't play :(, just a pc. of furniture.

Hey, it snowed somewhere in the winter! Global warming theories are hereby finally declared null and void and have been recognized as another liberal plot to damage the economy of our country.

(I never cared that much for the distinction between weather and climate anyway.)

And we all know all those scientists are really parasites trying to preserve their plushy government grant financed jobs - their objectivity is completely tainted, consequently. Besides, some other scientists (ones with real jobs, say working for oil companies) have disputed those "conclusions" - it follows, global warming is by no means certain. Just another theory (say like ...gravity - we ain't proved it yet either).

Clearly, wealthy ex-UN presidents have always had the goal of damaging the profits and prosperity of our noble country. Similar comments for wealthy liberal ex-politicians.. And wealthy limo liberals in Hollywood. And wealthy Soros-style bazillionairs.

Did I leave out anything? Climate "Science" is such a misnomer anyway. Let's stop wasting time talking about things like record 70 degree temps in Denver on the winter solstice.  n~

I must say - the snow is beautiful, particularly in the second photo. (So that is what it looks like! I barely remember old timers referring to rain here in southern New Mexico, let alone snow.)

Hi you Old Cowboy!

I am presently suffering from a "stronger than my *normal* C-Pap machine induced sinus infection that I periodically am afflicted with.  So my reading comprehension is down a bit, and ability to read between the lines subsequently diminished.

"Global Warming" as it has been expounded upon has been debunked in actual, non biased, scientific communities.  Those who have no economic connection at all to "it".  Were you saying something like that?

(and I guess I better knock off the "political" comments that I so openly posted as a moderator are not allowed! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Get well soon, and Happy New Year.
