I just got off the phone with John Miske. He and his wife Elaine attended the 40th Anniversary of Old Time Stunt Contest which was put on by the Garden State Circle Burners. The contest was held at George Gaydos Memorial Field which is located on Two Bridges Road in Lincoln Park, NJ, where Old Time Stunt started 40 years ago. The GSCB ran Old Time Stunt, phase one (no flaps) and phase two (flapped). They also flew Classic and Beginner Stunt. The Contest Director was Michael Cooper.
John told me that he and Elaine arrived at the field around 10:30 am, and left around 3 pm. The Circle Burners had a reserved parking place close to the flying action, along with two chairs with John and Elaine's names on them! John was delighted to be there, and told Elaine that he wished he could fly one of the OTS airplanes. As you may know, John's mobility was severly restricted by a stroke he suffered in May of 2009. He did manage to get around a little on his walker.
John told me the names of many of the guys who were there; Bob Hunt, Dick Sarpolous, and Windy Urtnowski who built an OTS ship that was raffled off for the club. I didn't take notes, so I don't remember many other names that he mentioned to me. (sorry)
Anyway, John and Elaine Miske were delighted and would love to do it next year! John mentioned that he hoped that it wouldn't be so cool next year.
Circle Burners, you did good! Thank you for a great contest!

Congratulations to th GSCB!
Having been there to help celebrate the twentieth and the twentyfifth (and having assisted in designing the art work for those super occaisions) I can only say that I am sorry to have missed this wonderful party.
John, thanks!

Many thanks to John Miske, Jr. for having begun this wildly popular event. Without his foresight, we probably would have never dreamed-up things like the VSC.
Good move, John!

Many thanks to you Mike. VSC stands for its self. So John and Mike keep it alive.
Cheers,Dan #^ #^

Could not be there, but I have the t-shirt, thanks to Mike O.

We have a few Tee shirts in all sizes....
Please contact Mike Ostella (mike.ostella@verizon.net) for details....
Thanks
The weather wasn't all that great....stiff breezes and the usual GSCB downdrafts...
I flew my Williamson Ringmaster with a Fox 25.....a bit lean and fast, but I had a ball...

Since I was at the 1st, 20th and 25th, it really hurt that I could not there. I called Mile Ostella's cell phone and was able to talk to John Miske, John D'Ottavio, and Jim Damerell. It certainly was a great occasion. I hope to see pictures very soon.

George Kalinowski judged OTS....George was at the first one, too....
Jim D forgot a maneuver on his first flight and ran out of fuel on his second.
John D had practiced with something that Tom Hampshire had built, but passed on an official.
Bob Hunt judged Classic....
We flew for the D"ottavio Cup as well...... conditions deteriorated, apparently, because Ryan Barry (Int.) got blown out of a maneuver and his score went down 14% (he won last year!)....Buddy Wieder went down 9.9%....George Waters only went down 6% and captured the Cup!
Great fun!

Well,
I only took 2 pictures. It was way to interesting listening to these guys reunite. This picture John, Larry, A gentlemen I just met who's name escapes me, and Mike Luciano cutting it up! Also, had the pleasure of meeting some great people! My other photo will be in my super satan thread as its not related to this thread. There were some great models there, and some mighty brave flying in that wind!
Thanks,
Tom
