4 New People on the handle
« on: October 20, 2012, 04:27:34 PM »
It was a great day for flying in the mid-south. Light winds blowing for the most part away from the sun.

I had a guy at work see my screen saver kick in on my PC and I have a lot of CL pictures. (snagged from this site ;) )
I told him to come out and I would bring a few trainers. So he shows up with his wife and I put them up on my trainer Buster. His wife few the whole tank out and did not get dizzy. My friend on the other hand had to take a few breaks.
I'm sure he got a ear full on the drive home.  LL~

We also have a 17 yr old that has joined our club and has been learning to fly RC. He has come over to our circle and started asking questings. Well today we got him a few turns in the circle. The plane leaned out after about 10 laps so he ask that I take it back. He had to leave for work but I hope to try again.
Then we had Ben. He came out to our club today for the first time to fly RC. When he saw our circle he came over and said he had not flown CL in 30 years. He is a older gentlemen so I offered him a flight on the Streak Master. I held his hand and the handle a after a few laps let go of the handle. He did a few level laps and then started doing lazy eights. I sat down in the center circle and watch as a big grin came over his face. He was a kid again.
He hung around a said he wanted to see the Vector fly. He said he really like the way it looks on the ground. So he watch as I put up a flight.
At the end of the day he said he had not had that much fun in 30 years.
I told him I would give him one of my old planes and Jim offered up a engine. We will drop it off at the LHS with his name on it. I hope we see him back out at the field.

Sorry but I was having so much fun today I did not snap any photos.

Make that five -- I got one of the guys at our RC club to fly.  I kinda underestimated the twitchiness of me Flight Streak, so it was a short, wild ride, but the only damage was to the prop and he's interested in trying again -- next time I'll take my SkyRay, with a way-detuned motor.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Great getting people flying again.  Also you will be getting someone to fly with.

That's what I like about CL.  No matter how old someone is, when they grab a handle, they are 12 years old again!
It's only paranoia if they aren't really after you.
