Who makes good 4 blade CF props?
-
Greg,
why a 4 blade,, and what size,, I have a 4 blade CF prop I wont use,,
-
For CF props, I'd check with Randy Smith, Alan Resinger, Bob Whitney and Eliminator Props (see Vendor's forums) in no particular order. I know Randy had a few sizes of 4 blade CF props at one time...doubt about the others. Brian Eather might...ask Alan about that. Three blades are easier to source! H^^ Steve

Mark, going on a spitfire using a RO-jet 61 Not sure what size 4 blade would work best??
-
Your max dia will probably be 12" but you may end up with a happier motor on 11.75" dia with 3.75-4-4.25 pitch range. I used to run Eather 4 blades for a long time and 12x3.5 was an awesome prop. I have another with 3.5 pitch and can't get anything else to fly on it. Not much traction.

Some Supermarine Spitfire's used 3 blades.

The very first spitfires used two blade props Wood I think. Bill Rutherford

True. Spit' Mk. I - two-bladed wooden props.
-
it would take about $40 for mold material and the frame for a 12 in 4 blade prop plus 2 props to make the master

Some Supermarine Spitfire's used 3 blades.
And some Spitfires used 5-blade props and there were some Seafires that had two three-blade counter rotating props.
