Welcome to the 2014 running of the Topeka spring contest, the Topclassical. Yesterday was racing and combat on a rather wet day. Today is stunt day. We'll start with the entry/score boards. The weather is near puuurrrfect with sun, about 75 degrees and around 5-8 mph wind.

Thank you Bill! Really a lucky shot. That's hard to get one right in front of you. That's the one benefit of the 7.1.1 download- the picture taking is way faster. Before there was a little delay. The bad thing is I have to crop the heck out of the photos to try to get under 1000 kb. Want to improve that by Nats time. That's a nice Stega though. And it won today.

The forecast the last week or so didn't look too promising but it turned out to be a very nice day, aside from some tricky wind. Thanks to all the Topclass volunteers that made the contest happen, and the judges (Dale Hrenchir, Jim Lee, Pete Lee, and Todd Lee) that stood out in the sun for our benefit.

I had a really good day. I couldn't have asked for better engine runs from the Anderson Spitfire. Now if I can just remember to fly the maneuvers in the right sequence... I was surprised to receive the Spirit of '52 award. I have to thank Jim Kraft for sharing his knowledge of spark ignition, and helping me get the setup just right. Without his help I never would have attempted to use a spark ignition .60.

I managed to snap a few pics between flights and running around. I'll try to get them sorted and uploaded shortly.
