Good Day All!
We're getting close to the Golden State! If you haven't entered yet, please do so as soon as possible so I can get the “line-ups” set. (If you don't, I may have to sic Uncle Jimby after you!)
The weather here in Central CA is finally starting to cool, so I'm guessing we'll be flying in high 70 or low 80 degree temps. Winds . . . who knows, but it's been hanging around 4-8mph lately.
Just a reminder, there are no shade trees at the new site, so along with your chair, feel free to bring an easy-up. Try to bring something heavy to tie it down with just in case the winds do come up. I'll try to have some cinder blocks and rope handy too.
Below is a link to the registration form, to register, just follow these simple instructions; Print; Fill Out; Enclose Check; Mail!
After much discussion, we have decided to cut the number of flying circles from four, to three. This will allow much larger (better) pit areas. The feeling is that one practice circle will be sufficient, and better pits will outweigh any possible negative. This is our first year at the airport, so if this turns out to be a bad decision, we'll change it for next year. After the event we will appreciate any and all feedback.
There will be a practice circle available by Noon Thursday October 18, and three on Friday. Look for the free H^^ hot dogs on Friday!
Please share this information with your flying friends, we want to make sure everyone gets the word! The registration form is available online at: www.californiacarclubs.com/gssc.htm (http://www.californiacarclubs.com/gssc.htm).
Guess that's it for now, and I sure hope to see a lot of you in two weeks, in Madera!
Brian
