Hello All,
I would like to put together a master northeast schedule like I did last year. I know the future is unpredictable but hopefully there is some planning going on. I will check this thread daily for any information and post a schedule in the events section. You can also email me at t(underscore)luciano at comcast(dot)net. Lets say from Virginia to Maine including large contests from Florida and interior states a days drive from the New York tri-state area.
Thanks,
Tom

Philly Fliers should be holding their annual contest on July 24th and 25th unless the State Park dictates otherwise. More info to follow....Skip

I have it on good authority there will never be another BRODAKS

We have a firm date (July 11, 2021) for the Ski Dombrovski Control Line Fly In to be held at the Salem County RC field, in Woodstown, NJ.
-
It was during the last Brodak meet several folks were heard saying they planned to continue with the Brodak meet at another location. My source recalls them saying it would be somewhere further east possibly in the Maryland area??? Does anyone concur?
-
Should have info by the end of this week. Thanks for guys sending in stuff.
-
Steve,
If I recall correctly, you're probably remembering the chatter about the event possibly heading down to I believe North Carolina. There was talk of this when John's event was going to end at the 20th year threshold.
All,
Thanks for the input guys! I will put together a schedule in the events section and keep it updated/live when we get more info. I will bump it up every time it's updated.
Thanks,
Tom

With respect to a Brodaks Fly-In substitute, a very good candidate would be the Eastern Shores August contest. Their new flying site has 4 or 5 circles and it seems they are adding events. Except for the Covid interruption, last fall they would have had PA, Old-Time, Profile, combat, and carrier. Not bad! They are really only limited by volunteers willing to put on additional events.
Maybe Tim could add his comments? He and Jack are the ring-leaders.

Tom,
We will be holding something at Flushing in Sept. Not 100% sure of the date yet. Waiting to see if the team trials are on labor day weekend.
Thanks

The Eastern Shore event, when it was held in 2019, was excellent.
The facility consisted of about four circles, enough for practice between rounds which helped my effort. In addition to the circles, the club has an excellent wooden shade structure that is on the order of one hundred feet long, plus the skills/crew/motivation to provide an excellent lunch.
Again, in 2019, two days of competition, profile Saturday and PA on Sunday. They had carrier and old-time, as well. I understand they are open to combat, but would need to have some help and work through details. I'm sure Tim Stagg or Jack Rosemere will give more details. Event was well attended with contingents from Northern Virginia, Norfolk, Philly, Maryland.

Thanks Peter, you beat me to it.
Tim - I’m not sure if I can make it but if I do, I would be happy to judge PA.

All,
the eastern shore club will be having two contest this year, (if able due to COVID) May and during our normal second weekend in August. Yes there has been discussion to increase the number of days and events, we will never replace Brodak...no one ever will...That was a magical week and I will miss it greatly.
However, we would like to build on our great contest by adding days and events if we can pull it off....our issue is we are primarily an RC club so we have lots of folks to help with field prep and running concessions but we only have 4 or 5 control line flyers so we have to rely on judging help and running other events like racing, scale, carrier, combat etc. we are open to doing this but will need much help. Jack and I are open to discussion...maybe this should be another thread. Everette Shoemaker has agreed to run Carrier this year but that is as far as we have gotten.
Would love to hear from anyone really interested in helping out. y1
