Hotel reservations are made.  I just finished rebuilding the Cavalier yesterday.  If test flights go well tomorrow and Friday I will be at the field on the 29th.  I have heard that several from TX, OK, and Ar will attend.

See you there.

Tanks to everyone, and I wish you could make it too Matt! You get another chance in Oct. at the Zachary, LA. contest. Hope you can make that one.

I have been checking the NOAA Aviation Weather web site for temps and winds.  They look great for the weekend.  However, the site also displays a flood warning for the area.  Is the flying site or surrounding areas we are likely to be traveling in affected???

Think it was 5+ ft underwater in the flood of August 2016. But so was most of the area lol.

Perry can chime in as he lives 5 minutes from it compared to me living an hour from there.

A chance of spotty showers in the PM on Saturday so far. The local forecast Thursday evening can be more accurate. As of right now the weather looks good for the weekend.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

The Weather Channel forecast I saw this morning showed Saturday to be OK but maybe a bit breezy.  Sunday morning is a different matter.  The forecast says 48 degrees at game time, 50% chance of rain, and a north wind of 12 mph.  Conditions might improve later in the day but I would prefer to be on the way home by noon or shortly thereafter.

I have been going to the Weather Channel every day to check and the forecast changes every few hours.  This contest is about a nine hour drive for me so Sunday's weather forecast will have to improve for me to make the trip.

I understand that the weather looks decent for the contest.  However, the question from my previous post was about flooding.  Evidently, due to recent rains the rivers in the Baton Rouge area are in danger of flooding.  The aviation weather web site (NOAA) has a flood warning posted for the area until April 16.  I am wondering what the conditions are.

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry bout the flooding. The river is always high.

The conditions are dry and forecast to be dry until late Saturday afternoon. Then a chance of spotty showers. Same for Sunday. The weather channel has forecasts for a large areas and can't be used for local stuff. Unless the bald guy shows up.
