2018 Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon
« on: October 04, 2018, 03:10:57 PM »
The 11th Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon is hard upon us and I hope everyone is ready to fly this weekend!!

I have updated the Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon website to allow you to report your participation by filling in a "Form" on page three (Report Form). When you click "Submit" the report will be sent to Larry Marx who is doing the tally this year. You can also opt-in to be put on an Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon mailing list to receive future updates, tally reports, Fly-A-Thon flyers and so on.

www.ringmasterflyathon.com

Please tell others about the website!! Word of mouth is a way to gather others into the Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon fold!

On a personal note: I recently suffered an intestinal blockage that turned out to be colon cancer (ten days in the hospital and minus a foot or so of intestines I am deemed to be "cancer free" at this time). Can only wait and see what the future holds. Meanwhile, I have spent a minimal amount of time on Control Line forums (my bad) but am back up and running (walking actually) at this time.

I hope to see numerous reports of Ringmaster flights roll in during the next two weeks!!

Control Line modelers are a wonderful bunch of enthusiasts and are great about supporting Model Aviation!!

Thanks to ALL.

Wretched little things

Aww Gee!  Ringmasters aren't THAT bad.

The Balsa Beavers met at Burlington ON
and at the BeanField near Dresden.
Light winds but flying through mist, we
had a great time. This event has become
the official season closer for us.

I lost count at 60 flights. The official
count from John McFayden after today's
efforts at Centennial Park.

Cheers! - K.

Planned on many Ringmaster flights this week end, but came up lame with a bum knee.  I'll try a few flights today, but will have to take advantage of the week long grace period.

Hopefully I'll have a pic or two of my fleet of Ringmasters from a Micro 12" span to my 2X + 88" span model with 6 or 7 various sizes in between. Plus a flight tally.

Len

BTW, does anyone know how I can rotate my avitar?  It isn't like this in my photo file.  Thanks!

We got in some Ringmaster flying at Dayton after the Carrier contest.

By the way, 87 degrees, bone dry and no wind.

2 Ringmasters, 1/2A and a Fox 35-powered full size.

3 pilots, 5 flights.

Despite light drizzle, fog and mist all weekend the Toronto Balsa Beavers managed to put up 200 soggy Ringmaster flights!

Hi to the Brotherhood of The Ring! I tried to submit my tally for today via a Report but was unable to accomplish my mission! I flew my S1 2 times and my 125 % Super Ringmaster 6 times for a total of 8 Ringmaster Flights! Perhaps the powers that be of the Fly A Thon can include my tally with the grand total! The S1 is powered by an Fox .35 and the 125% job by an LA .46. Both flew quite well in our near perfect weather for a change!

They do need a single wheel landing gear...  ;) Steve

The MCRC flew Saturday only as a funeral was the attraction Sunday.
The bunch flew 47 flights, I believe….Jim Smith was high with 12. I only got one, as the launcher somehow tore the rudder off of mine….I didn’t think it was prudent to fly any more, as the rudder kinda holds the stab on.

If the weather had been halfway decent or I had some help I would have been out.  Every time I looked out the window it was raining.  Zero flights this year. HB~>

Tree Town members put in 108 flights over 2 days despite the poor cooperation of the elements!  Here is one of the flights put in by 6 year-old Julian Garcia flying a Coroplast version of a Baby Ringmaster:
