Have you burned a gallon of fuel yet Dave?
Have you burned a gallon of fuel yet Dave?Today Paul, today for sure!
Dave,See ya then James. I'll likely be on the circle closest to where they will be flying scale sos I can get over to spectate between flights.
We should be there Saturday afternoon. Hope to get down to the grass. Ben is flying on Sunday.
James
79 degrees, wind 6 mph. Stunt heaven today and tomorrow.
5 year old contestant Christopher Degroff with his scale planes.
Where is Sparky? Is he there? How about Shug or Charles? They there?I'm not. Never been. Always during my busy work season.
Thanks
Sometimes it's a cost/ benefit analysis for me Paul. Grit teeth and white knuckles aren't much fun. Like I'm telling you ......... I know the airplane is more willing than I am. This is the airplane that flew its final round flight through the thunderstorm in 2014 here. Nonetheless I don't make practice of flying in such weather if I have a choice. BTW.. aren't you on the way yet?I don't like the idea of doing wingovers or overhead 8's with lightning around me.
BTW.. aren't you on the way yet?
Haven't decided if I am coming yet
I better decide soon!
Don't waste your time. 😉
Derek
Oh, so you are saying you are not worth beating?
Oh well....
Haven't decided if I am coming yet
I won't be there this year, so this could be your big chance.
The intermediate score board
Derrick Barry wins concourse

Ben Mills working it.A big thank you to Joe Daily. Ben crashed his SV-11 late yesterday afternoon. Joe immediately told him to fly one of their ARF Noblers.
Nice wheel pant, Dennis.Yeah, no one notices when the pictures on the wall are hung straight either.... HB~> HB~> HB~>
Will the live scoring update include advanced or just Open?
Hi! We are testing it this year. For right now that is all we can do. We will have it next year.
Oh bummer.. no Howard? That's a stunt bird I can wrap my head around!!!
Well Sam Niebel and I teamed up for practice this morning and indeed I got that first gallon burned. Got a few shots at the LPad.
Paul decided to show and has this machine to fly this time;
We are just under way here this morning. It's already sprinkling and a large mass is moving this way. We'll see how far in the first round we can go before a deluge. Seems with the live feeds I won't need to input much. I'll let you know about what the weather is doing.
And with a crack of thunder and a wall of water we are all stop here. Denny is holding till 3:00 pm for re-start (eastern). The last of the Advanced landed but none of the second round of Open has flown yet. Once we go again it will likely go past the dinner hour to complete. Most are leaving the field for now.
Yea, doesn't look all that good. Serious thunderstorms.
Not sure about the others ,but this a PDK "Typhoon" with an Evolution 60NX. Owned by Don Main ,an Indy Sportliners member. Don and Mike McHenry have been busy trimming her out. If you're looking for a .60 size profile ,this is it.(https://stunthanger.com/smf/open-forum/2017-nats-coverage/?action=dlattach;attach=272988;image)

Hi Dave;
Keep up the reports if you can. The live feeds are cool but some of us don't have the equipment that can handle them. You have always done a great play by play, short, sweet and to the point and yet very descriptive. Some of us have to work also and can't enjoy the live feeds.
Thanks alot!
Dan McEntee
Mike Palko on 3 and Tom Dixon on 4 start is off this morning. They are up while others ready in the pit.
BTW- my prediction, based on various sources... (no particular order):
David
Paul
Orestes
Derek
Masaru
Brett
I came up with the same list except for one name. My pick includes Minato. One of those 6 people will not make the top 5 and it will be very close.
...then we Left Coasters will be able to compete.
How did Banjock make out?
Bob Z.
The reports on Muncie weather make a good case for moving the Nats to CA.
If so, then we Left Coasters will be able to compete. Until then, good luck in IN.
He flew his stiletto as best he could but came up short in qualifying and ended up 6th on his circle
