And with a crack of thunder and a wall of water we are all stop here.  Denny is holding till 3:00 pm for re-start (eastern).  The last of the Advanced landed but none of the second round of Open has flown yet.  Once we go again it will likely go past the dinner hour to complete.  Most are leaving the field for now.

     I am looking at the radar, and even 2400 miles away, I can tell that if you get started again, you had better set yourself up to fly in some air, boys!

Yea, doesn't look all that good. Serious thunderstorms.

  It's going to clear up well before sundown, unfortunately, what happens right after clearing is typically lots of gusty wind. It might make those with mediocre first-round flights a little nervous.

   Brett

p.s. it's clear now, winds about 10 gusting to 15, and it's not likely to improve before sundown. Not a disaster but should make it very difficult to improve on the morning score - so if you *have to*, time to show us what you have....

Not sure about the others ,but this a PDK "Typhoon" with an Evolution 60NX. Owned by Don Main ,an Indy Sportliners member. Don and Mike McHenry have been busy trimming her out. If you're looking for a .60 size profile ,this is it.

For some reason I seem to like that colour..... ;D

Too bad I can't make it to Muncie now. Last time was W Ch 2004:

Jason, Jim, all thank you.  Might be a good point while we wait (Denny just announced the pits are open for business but Brett was correct- it's very breezy now and few are in a hurry), to briefly bring up some of what's going on and may happen going forward.  Our sport is trying to use some different media technology to get our story out.  Last evening we had our Pampa executive council meeting and general membership meeting.  We are at a point where changes and new directions are needed in how we communicate.  Our great Stunt News is going to have to transform into other things for three main reasons;
1.  After years of great service Bob and Liz are wishing to find other things to do in life than devote so much of there time to our enjoyment.  Good for them! But we don't have a good plan 'B' for the magazine makeup.
2.  Production and mailing costs of 4-6 issues per year are exceeding the membership fees which is not sustainable, especially as membership number are softening making it harder to spread costs.
3.  We grew up loving our model mags but with modern media it's largely old news by the time you get it.

Our discussions are centering around taking most of it on line with our new website nearing completion (we've gotten previews this week). It has live capability, blog interaction and archival capability.  The mag may become a larger once a year 'annual' type affair.  Another goal through this is to cut membership fees in half which should help many of our fixed-income potential members.  A bigger online footprint should be helpful on youthful recruits.

Anyway you may see our broadcasts go to the Pampa site with blogs and live feeds and may become therefore subscription based... JOIN PAMPA.

We are about to restart now.

Ok, now we have the advanced finals loaded with open top 20  ;D

Their is also a feature that will allow you to request text notifications for pilots scores once they are updated. Click on the icon next to the pilots name that has a smart phone icon to input your number.

  Hi Dave;
    Keep up the reports if you can. The live feeds are cool but some of us don't have the equipment that can handle them. You have always done a great play by play, short, sweet and to the point and yet very descriptive. Some of us have to work also and can't enjoy the live feeds.
    Thanks alot!
   Dan McEntee

 Ditto Dave, I actually prefer your reports.  y1

We are awaking this morning to lights flickering in the Baymont as a strong storm including hail is rolling into Muncie.  Looking at radar it will certainly pour right up to start time and beyond...... this wasn't in any forecast I saw last night.  Nontheless until we hear otherwise we'll make our way out by start time and see what's happening.

Here at 9:15 it looks like we will get an opening in the next hour which probably will work out for an 11:00 go for our G20+12 to begin.  We'll have 64 flights to get in today.  There appears to be another wave of storms a few hours behind this one.  Hope we won't have too much standing water on the circles.

Mike Palko on 3 and Tom Dixon on 4 start is off this morning.  They are up while others ready in the pit. These are warm ups for the judges.  Denny is urging the flyers to be ready and keep it moving to get in what we can during this break in weather.  The wind is not too bad-mostly 5-8 I'd recon.
