Title: 2015 Nats. Date, C/L. Update as of Nov.
Post by: Allen Goff on September 10, 2014, 04:05:52 PM
This is not etched in stone yet but, the dates for Controline is July 12-17, and C/L Scale is 17-19. Now the great thing about this is (if the date stands) the l-pad will be open for practice the week before. This is because scale is the weekend later and there is no need for the "over fly zone". If you are checking the dates the 12th is a Sunday and the 17th is a Fri.. Yolanda tells me Sept. 15th should be the date when final dates are secured. Pray this date stands, I think it is great for C/L.
Let your thoughts begin. n~

Bill, Yolanda sent a revised schedule out Tuesday I think it was. But I wonder if it will stand because the Walker Cup fly off is usually on a Saturday, and that can't happen with this schedule. We'll see.

Ending on Friday would actually work better for me as we normally have a business conflict in Denver.  Ben could still fly Junior and we wouldn't have to decide which to do.

Update, this seems to be the final schedule, C/L scale will be Fri. 10th-Sun.12th. Everything else C/L will be Mon. 13th- Sat. 18th. same as in the past. Good thing is, it is not on the 4th of July weekend.

And, and I know it is apocryphal (and I am familiar with the basic concept of statistics), we have generally had much better weather the second week, as opposed to the first week.

Brett, I think it is because the glider and FF guys pray for thermals, so the result is unpredictable air and boomers roiling up to FL 50.......

Brett- I am sorry, I forgot- when one of your work birds is on ascent you barely take a breath before FL 50, and then things start getting interesting!

not so fast Howard.....trying to sneak one over on me huh?    ....I see what you are trying to do there...  Now if we can just get David and Paul to go to Muncie in August instead of July we might be onto something.   ;D ;D

Okay, so if the C/L competitions begin on the 13th of July, does that mean that beginner stunt is on the 12th?  Is intermediate run with the beginner dates? ???  The schedule seems vague, just trying to make plans

August is the do-over Nats if you didn't like the results in July.
