Here are the results of the Chumley Memorial ARF-OFF, the contest formerly known as The Great American ARF-OFF.
For those of you who are unaware, Chumley was the contest mascot (ARF!) and my best pal. We lost him last Friday night, two days before the contest.

Jim, Sorry for your huge loss. I met Chumley at the Northwest Regionals this year. Very awesome dog. Not fun I am sure it is a big
chunk of your heart gone. W Hicks

Jim,
Truly sorry to hear about Chumley. Glad I got to spend some time with him down in Roseburg. I'm sure the house is a bit empty for you guys.

Jim,
My Dad and I had a great time at your contest this past weekend. Your awards were so clever as usual. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to the hobby. I like the new name for the contest. Very appropriate. Thanks again and I'll see you in a couple of weeks.

Really sorry to hear about Chumley. The news came Friday at the Richmond BC flying field, via Chris' Blackberry. Made us very sad. He was a great one, for certain. :'( Steve

We're going to miss old Chumley, but what a great life he had. Wonderful parents, never went to bed hungry, gave as much love as he received, and got to meet many fine people at model airplane contests. Not sure Chumley could have done any better than that.
I'm very glad I got to see him in Roseburg earlier in the year. We had a moment. I think we both knew it might be our last together.
Dammit, I'm starting to cry...

Jim,
Very sorry for your loss of Chumley. Losing a friend is always a terrible thing and perhaps even worse when it's a canine buddy.
I've had and lost many canine buddies over the years and it is never easy. Best cure for the sadness is always a new Puppy!
I always have at least 3 dogs with their ages spaced by a couple of years. When the day comes to say goodbye there's a couple of buddies to share your sadness!
I look forward to seeing you again at a contest. I had intended to attend the ARF Off this year, but my plans were interrupted by my wife having open heart surgery. She's doing very well now but the job of "Chief Nurse and Pill Distributer" fell to me!
Maybe next year!

Thanks everyone for your very kind words about Chumley. He was a very special creature and his passing has created a huge hole in our lives. Paulette and I miss him so much that I can't put it in words. Your thoughts really do help us cope and we are very appreciative. I'm glad some of you were able to spend some time with him. I'm sure he enjoyed it as well. Thanks!!!!!!

Jimby, I was just thinking about Chumley last weekend, wondering how he was doing. I'd like to think it was his way of saying good bye. Maybe we can have a couple of beer, and tears, in his honor next time we meet.

Chumley really connected with you, Tom. Let's have that beer. I've got the tears.

Welcome to my world, Chris. Dammit is right. Glad you had the moment.

Yes Chumley was missed however his likeness will be immortalized forever in the Bowser-Cup Trophy. 8)

The crew complete with their assembled ARS (Almost Ready to Show-off) trophies. Note Mugsy, Chumley's unofficial stand-in, bottom center. Nice try but it just wasn't the same.
